IIReading the verdict column

Do it means the change is close to free and moves something worth moving. Only if means the substitution is correct in a specific situation and pointless outside it, and the situation is named on the record itself. Buys nothing means the change is real but the benefit people expect from it is not. Costs more than it moves means something improves and something else gets worse by a larger margin, which is the most common verdict here and the least intuitive one.
