Nine things no substitution moves

Before any of the thirty-one records is worth reading, here is the set of things none of them affect. Half the disappointment in this subject comes from expecting one of these to shift because something else did.

01The three addresses reach one market

Switching between the strings at the top of this page changes the door, not the building. The catalogue, your account, your balance, your open orders and your message history are identical behind each. There is no address with a better catalogue and no address with a faster market. When one is slow, the slowness lives in the path your client built to it, and the fix is a new path or a different door, not a better one.

02Nothing outside the market can tell you if it is reachable

08Urgency is the attack

Every expensive mistake in this subject shares one ingredient. A stalled address, a pending order, a message that says the deal must move now. Nothing technical removes that pressure, and no substitution here defends against it. What defends against it is refusing to act inside the hour it arrives, which costs nothing and is discussed in record T2.

09A directory can point, it cannot vouch

This page can hand you a string. It cannot prove the string, because proof over the clearnet does not exist for an onion service. That limit applies to every list in this niche including this one, it does not improve with better design, and the correct response is to treat any list as a starting point that you confirm on the market side.
