IWhat escrow is doing

Escrow inserts a party who holds the money while two strangers who cannot identify each other complete a transaction. It is the mechanism that makes the transaction possible at all. Without it there is nothing but a message from somebody you cannot name, and the entire structure the market provides collapses into a promise.

The dispute path matters just as much as the hold. It creates a consequence for a vendor who does not deliver, which is the only pressure operating in your favour.

IIThe reasons that get offered

The market fees are high and we can split the difference. A discount for removing your only protection is not a discount.
My account is having problems, let us finish this outside. An account with problems is a reason to stop, not to pay faster.
I have been trading for years, check my feedback. Feedback is on the platform being abandoned, and it describes past behaviour under conditions that are being removed.
